The Denver Nuggets were one of the best three point shooting team last season and they should continue this pace this coming year.
The Denver Nuggets had a great year offensively last season. Defensively, not so much, but that is a different topic for a different day.
The Nuggets were the 10th ranked team in three point percentage according to teamrankings.com with a percentage of 36.8% from deep. After having such a high powered offense last season which barely missed the post season, this can beg the question of whether or not Denver can keep up this hot shooting this coming season from downtown.
Fear not because I am here to tell you the Nuggets will still be a threat from three point territory. Many would think the loss of Danilo Gallinari would hurt the perimeter shooting and in most instances, they would be correct.
However, with Denver adding four time All Star, Paul Millsap, they are also getting a big man who can stretch the floor effectively. If Denver had lost Gallo and not gotten a star this off season, I would be saying their offense would suffer, but that is not the case in this instance. Many forget Millsap is capable of hitting the three himself.
He is deceiving in this way due to the way he is built and his rugged play style normally has him thriving in the paint. However, he can also burn opponents from deep when given the opportunity. Not to mention, Denver still possesses a plethora of other three point shooters.
We all know about Nikola Jokic, Gary Harris was a top ten three point shooter in the league last season and Jamal Murray is going to come back even stronger. There is also Juancho Hernangomez and Darrell Arthur to account for along with the versatile Wilson Chandler.
