CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cavs (16-5) and Hornets (14-9) get together on the second night of a back to back for both teams at 7:30 tonight.
What’s up with the Cavs: They’ve beaten the Hornets three times in a row and five straight at home. Channing Frye made six 3s in a 100-93 over Charlotte on Nov. 10; he won’t be out there tonight. The Cavs also blocked nine Hornets’ shots that night — the same number they tallied last night against the Heat. Entering Friday’s game, James Jones had made 11-of-14 3s this season.
Cavs injuries: J.R. Smith (left knee hyperextension) is questionable; Kevin Love (back spasms) is probable; Channing Frye (bereavement) is out.
What’s up with the Hornets: They beat the Magic 109-88 last night. Big man Cody Zeller is averaging career highs in points (see below) and blocks (1.2) per game. Nicolas Batum is one of five NBA players averaging at least 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. LeBron James is on that list. Kemba Walker had the second-most 3s in the East entering play on Friday (60), trailing only Kyle Lowry.
