Common, Stefanie Dolson, other Chicago stars headline NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

Common’s an old hand at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, but Stefanie Dolson will be a rookie when she takes the court with other famous types with Chicago ties, including Rachel Nichols, Candace Parker and Nate Robinson.

But she has the ultimate experience: a pickup game against Kevin Hart.

In 2012, the comedian and four-time Celebrity Game MVP “did his whole comedy show at UConn and we got to go backstage and meet him, and then we actually played a pickup game with him,” said Dolson, the former Husky who now plays for the Sky.

“And he was hilarious, like, he’s such a funny guy even when he’s off the camera or off the stage,” she said.

To get a sense of how badly Dolson and her teammates mopped Hart and his boys, Hart said in an old YouTube clip, “There’s no such thing as an airball, there’s shots that just miss the rim.”

“Too bad he’s not going be there,” Dolson said about this year’s celebrity game at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at Verizon Up Arena in Los Angeles. “But I definitely loved him through the years.”
