The preseason concludes tonight for the Brooklyn Nets. The Philadelphia 76ers come to the New Coliseum in Long Island to take on the Nets. Here are some news and notes before the game starts.
We know that the Brooklyn Nets will play their starters tonight in the preseason finale. So far, D’Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin have manned the guard spots while DeMarre Carroll, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Timofey Mozgov will occupy the frontcourt spots.
The Philadelphia 76ers will not feature top pick Markelle Fultz in the lineup. Instead, Jarred Bayless will start at point guard. Ben Simmons will likely be the primary ball-handler though. Robert Covington and J.J. Redick will surround them on the wings.
More from Nothin’ But Nets
The main storyline tonight for the 76ers will be Joel Embiid’s preseason debut. According to Jessica Camerato of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Embiid will play around 12-14 minutes tonight. He will play in three minute intervals.
Long Island represent
Fans will notice that the trademark Brooklyn Nets’ black “B” logo will be absent on Wednesday night. Instead, the red, white and blue colors of the team’s G-League affiliate Long Island Nets will be covering the court.
The move was likely done to promote the team’s new minor league unit. Or perhaps the Nassau Coliseum crew didn’t feeling like overhauling the court (just kidding of course).
How to watch
The game will be broadcast on several different networks.
For the New York crowd, the game will be broadcast on YES. In Philadelphia, the game has been added to NBCS Philadelphia.
The game tips off at 7:30 ET.
