In a TD Garden Far, Far Away
Another chance for a statement win, another lost opportunity for the Boston Celtics against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night.
The Celtics blew a 13 point lead in the second half and dropped their second straight game.
More from Hardwood Houdini
Avery Bradley B+
18 PTS 4 REBS 2 ASTS
Rough shooting night for Bradley going just 8/18 from the field despite the decent scoring output.
Marcus Smart B
11 PTS 9 REBS 6 ASTS
Smart had one of his best games for the season as he always seems to do when he heads back to Oklahoma. While not shooting the ball terribly well, he did a great job facilitating and rebounding. He did what he could to stop Russell Westbrook but no one can completely shut him down.
Jae Crowder C+
18 PTS 3 REBS 2 ASTS
A much better shooting night from Crowder after a string of poor shooting nights. 7/9 and 3/4 from deep was a big improvement. Fouled out in the last quarter and therefore wasn’t able to be out there in crunch time when the team needed him to close things out.
Al Horford C+
19 PTS 6 REBS 4 ASTS
Horford was much more aggressive shooting the ball which is what fans are after. He didn’t shoot it particularly well but again provided some great passing. That being said, he needs to keep getting those rebounding numbers up.
Amir Johnson C
6 PTS 8 REBS 3 ASTS
Johnson got a bit more court time against the Thunder, and earned those minutes by playing a good game. Finally got the rebounding up a little bit as we all want to see those numbers improve. Only 3/8 from the field, but if he can keep that intensity up he’ll be fine.
Kelly Olynyk D
8 PTS 8 REBS 2 ASTS
Lets look at the positives first because we all know what the negative is. 8 rebounds is another step in the right direction but once again the big man could not hit a shot. 2/9 and 1/7 from deep is an extremely poor performance from Olynyk. He must start hitting his shots and soon with his contract on the line after this season.
Terry Rozier D
6 PTS 5 REBS 2 ASTS
Like Olynyk, he had a very poor shooting night in a rough game for the second year man. 3/12 from the field and 0/2 from downtown. Part of the second unit that again let a big lead slip away.
Jaylen Brown C
10 PTS 2 REBS 1 ASTS
Another quality performance from the rookie as he continues to earn his minutes back that he seemed to have lost just over a week ago. 4/5 from the field and made his only 3 point attempt in a solid game for the rook.
The Celtics next have another opportunity to have that big win they need against the San Antonino Spurs.
