ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks, Uber, and Gentleman Jack, have joined together to create the ultimate fan experience from courtside to curbside with a co-branded pick-up area for games and other events at Philips Arena. The designated area will serve as a convenient meeting point for Uber riders to easily find their drivers when using the popular ride-sharing app. The new zone will also help to ease heavy traffic during peak times by cutting down on congestion.
The Gentleman Jack / Uber Pick-Up Zone will be located at the arena’s lower level parking in the Philips Lot across from the area known as “The Gulch.” It can be accessed by exiting the doors nearest portal 12 and crossing the CNN Deck walkway and going down the stairwell. Alternately, it may be reached by taking the elevators in the CNN Deck at Centennial Park Drive down to the lower level.
“The Hawks are consistently exploring ways to provide our fans with a 360-degree, premium experience,” said Andrew Saltzman EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. “It’s exciting to work with great partners like Uber and Gentleman Jack who share the same vision with safety and convenience in mind.”
When using the Uber app, first-time riders can get $20 off when they apply the code ATLHAWKS to or from Philips Arena games or events. Additionally, they can take advantage of discounted Hawks tickets for the Dec. 5 game against OKC or Dec. 7 matchup versus Miami here with the code UBER.
Uber is also offering existing riders one free trip up to $10 to or from Philips Area – redeemable by the first 1000 riders to apply code HAWKSUBER for any trip between Dec. 5 and Dec. 9. These users can also get a special deal on Hawks tickets for the Dec. 5 and Dec. 7 contests here with the code RIDEUBER.
“Uber is proud to partner with the Hawks and Gentleman Jack to make it even more convenient to get a reliable ride at the tap of a button from Philips Arena,” said Uber Atlanta General Manager Luke Marklin. “Whether Atlantans want to watch the Hawks light up the scoreboard with a drink in hand or want to skip the parking lot at a sold-out concert, they can always count on Uber for a safe ride home.”
For Gentleman Jack, part of the Brown-Forman portfolio, the partnership is another avenue to promote safe ways for fans to responsibly enjoy a night out and avoid drinking and driving.
“We at Gentleman Jack are proud to partner with the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena on this initiative to encourage planning ahead and not driving under the influence,” said Ana Kornegay, Gentleman Jack US Brand Director. “As a company committed to responsibility, we’re excited to work with Uber and help our neighbors in Atlanta get home safely.”
